The beautiful woodblock print "Gomangoku no Fuji" (Gomangoku Wisteria) is by Fumio Kitaoka (1918 - 2007). Printed in 1978. This lovely print features a vibrant wisteria flower in full bloom, with its delicate petals and vibrant colors. The intricate details of the flower are captured in the print, making it a truly unique piece of art. The Wisteria Trellis in Okazaki Park is a famous spot for wisteria flowers. The beautiful black and white woodblock print "Yakushiji no tou" (The Pagoda at Yakushi-ji Temple) is by Kihei Sasajima (1906-1993). This print captures the majestic view of a pagoda at Yakushi-ji Temple, a Buddhist temple in Nara, Japan. Limited edition size of only 50 sheets. Printed on very thin washi paper. Unique texture with heavy embossing by the Takuzuri technique. This technique involves spraying a mist onto paper to give it moisture and transferring the designs of the protruding sections by pressing against them forcefully. His Takuzuri prints are really powerful with his own technique of relief printing.
Kihei Sasajima was born in 1906 in Tochigi prefecture. His artworks were influenced by his teacher Shiko Munakata and Unichi Hiratsuka. He dedicated his life to black and white woodblock prints created in Takuzuri. His collectors are worldwide.

The lovely woodblock print "Maihime" (Dancing Girl) is by Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934). From the popular series "Onna judai" (Ten Female Subjects). Limited edition size of only 280 sheets. The title, artist's signature, and artist's red seal are on the lower left corner of the image. Artist's name, the title, edition number 30/280 in Japanese Kanji, and the publisher's name "Takamizawa" on the left margin. This is a recarved edition by Takamizawa publisher in 1987. The woman's Kimono is a typical Taisho era design, which is very colorful and modern. It adds a very lovely and fresh mood to this print.
Yumeji Takehisa was born in Okayama in 1884. He is very famous for his Bijin-ga (paintings of beautiful women), in addition, he succeeded as an illustrator for many books or advertisements. His typical lyrical works were called 'Yumeji-style beauties (Bijin). He is a representative painter of Taisho romance, and was sometimes called the "Ukiyo-e artist of the Taisho era''.

A unique Koshu Oyako Daruma with a white body and a face on the belly. In the past, the economy of Yamanashi Prefecture was dictated by the quality of sericulture and cotton production, so there was a custom for farmers to enshrine a white daruma to pray for a good harvest. The lovely woodblock print "Hanagasa Roji" (Red Umbrella in Alley) is by Teruhide Kato. Wonderful composition and stunning contrast. Published by Unsodo. Teruhide Kato had studied at Kyoto Art College. He was a famous kimono fashion designer. When he was 50 years old, he decided to follow his real passion and became a traditional Kyoto woodblock artist. Success remained with the artist. After a gallery exhibition in New York and a book publication of his works titled "Kyoto Romance", he is as famous as a woodblock artist as he used to be as a kimono designer. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2015.

This lovely woodblock print "Haru no Inori" (Spring Prayer) is by Shufu Miyamoto (born 1950). It is a pencil signed by the artist and titled in Japanese by the artist. Especially, Hozuki-Ichi (The Hozuki fair) has been held for more than 200 years at the Senso-ji temple in Asakusa, Tokyo every summer. The phenomenal silkscreen print "Reimei" (Mt. Fuji at Dawn) is by Masayuki Miyata (1926-1997). This print captures the beauty of Mt. Fuji at dawn, with its majestic silhouette against the sky. Masayuki Miyata was a well-known Japanese Kiri-e (paper-cutting) artist. The wonderful woodblock print "Natsuyakko" (Summer Geisha) is by Kotondo Torii. This is one of "Twelve Aspects of Woman". The young geisha is wearing summer Kimono and has light makeup on. The fresh blue background adds a precious atmosphere to this beautiful print. Light embossing on the fan, hair ornament, and kimono. Please see incredible Bokashi shading and highly detailed carving, especially her individual hairs. Originally published in 1934, this print is a later edition by Aratama Kanko Kai Limited edition of 100 prints published. Printed on beautiful Japanese washi paper with "Sanso" watermarked. Carver's name, Shigeru Koike, Printer's name is Matashiro Uchikawa, Torii's red seal of approval (copyright), and the publisher's red moneybag seal on the lower left margin. Many people are lined up in front of the famous food stalls on the street, and various signs exude the essence of Osaka. The urban scene is depicted in a chic monochrome style and is quite interesting. It was printed in 2001 and is signed, titled, dated, and numbered by the artist in pencil on the bottom margin. It is a limited edition of only 4 prints.

The heartwarming large woodblock print "Doji" (Children) is by Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934). Limited edition size of only 300 sheets. The title, artist's name, and edition number "9/300" on the left margin. The publisher's name "Kanei-do", Carver's name "Matsuda Torazo", Printer's name "Toda Tadashi" on the right margin. Artist's signature "Yumeji" with a red seal "Take" on the lower right corner of the image. This is a recarved edition by Kanei-do. Adorable children are playing the traditional children's game "Kagome-Kagome" under the fully bloomed camellia tree. This peaceful and nostalgic image makes our hearts warm.
Yumeji Takehisa was born in Okayama in 1884. He is very famous for his Bijin-ga (paintings of beautiful women), in addition, he succeeded as an illustrator for many books or advertisements. His typical lyrical works were called 'Yumeji-style beauties (Bijin). He is a representative painter of Taisho romance, and was sometimes called the "Ukiyo-e artist of the Taisho era''.
