The fantastic silkscreen print 'Cats' is by Kotaro Yoshioka (1928-2016). It features two precious purple kittens against a backdrop of black and gray shades, creating a mesmerizing contrast that will capture your heart. Kotaro Yoshioka was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1928. He started his career as a painter under the very famous Japanese painter Yasuo Kazuki (1911-1974) and began working as a silkscreen artist in 1967. He became a well-known Japanese silkscreen artist. Kotaro Yoshioka passed away in 2016.

Himeji Castle was built in 1609. It's one of the twelve existing towers in Japan and has been preserved since it was built. This print shows the Himeji Castle during the major renovations in the Showa period. The main tower in the castle is surrounded by wooden scaffolds for a major renovation.

His artwork is very familiar in Japan, his artwork was used as the cover of "Focus" (very famous Japanese magazine) until 1989 since 1956. studying traditional Japanese painting at the Kyoto Municipal School of Fine Arts, he turned to oils and, in the early part of his career, painted in a fairly straightforward descriptive style. Soon, however, he began to use airbrushed, concentrating on creating highly distorted figures and confirming his tendency to express his vision of modern society in psychological terms. Kozo Mio received the Grand Prix of the Biennial International Exhibition of Figurative Paintings.

This humorous stencil print (called Kappa-ban) "慶-Yorokobi" (Rejoice) is by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992). It shows two traditional Japanese masks "Hyottoko" and "Okame". "Hyotoko and Okame" as a pair are said to bring in good fortune in Japan. Already framed. It comes with the original box.
