The print was produced as a kuchie frontispiece for a novel titled "Yugure" (Twilight) in a literary magazine titled Bungei Kurabu magazine, Vol 13, No.12 in 1907 (Meiji 40 nen). Artist's seal on the center right edge.

Truly lovely Bijin-ga woodblock print is by Kiyokata Kaburagi. Rarely seen offered for sale. Printed Taisho 3 nen (1914). From "Kiyokata Bijin Gafu" (Portfolio of Beauties by Kiyokata) Published by Bijutsu Nihon Gakuin. This print still tipped on original paper with the title "Makuai". This print shows colorful Taisho period fashion, very attractive print.
