Eiichi Kotozuka was born in Osaka in 1906. He is a well-known woodblock artist who is famous for his landscapes in the Kinki area including Kyoto and Nara, flowers, birds, and figure prints.

Takagamine Alley is the entrance to the Saba Kaido (Highway) which was important for the transportation of goods in those days.
