The astonishing land-water space created by 230 Funaya (boathouses), a circle along the Ine Bay shoreline, can only be seen here at Ine. The whole Funaya seems to be floating on the high tide, looking like row houses on the water. The boat is one of the major local transportation in Ine Bay. There was a school boat to send children off to high school in Miyazu City in the past time.

The beautiful woodblock print "Hanabi" (Fireworks) is by Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934) A woman is watching fireworks at the riverside. Colorful fireworks reflect on the water. Limited edition size of only 500 sheets. The artist's seal is on the lower left corner of the image. Artist's name "Yumeji", the title "Hanabi", the date "'97", the edition number, and the publisher's name "Minato-ya" with a red seal on the bottom margin. (in pencil by publisher) This is a recarved edition by Minato-ya (publisher) in 1997. The woman's Kimono colors and firework colors are matching which is very lovely and tasteful.
Yumeji Takehisa was born in Okayama in 1884. He is very famous for his Bijin-ga (paintings of beautiful women), in addition, he succeeded as an illustrator for many books or advertisements. His typical lyrical works were called 'Yumeji-style beauties (Bijin). He is a representative painter of Taisho romance, and was sometimes called the "Ukiyo-e artist of the Taisho era''.

The wonderful black and white woodblock print "Kisshōten" (The Goddess of Beauty, Fortune, and Prosperity) is by Kihei Sasajima (1906-1993). Printed on very thin washi paper. Unique texture with heavy embossing by the Takuzuri technique. This technique involves spraying a mist onto paper to give it moisture and transferring the designs of the protruding sections by pressing against them forcefully. His Takuzuri prints are really powerful with his own technique of relief printing.
Kihei Sasajima was born in 1906 in Tochigi prefecture. His artworks were influenced by his teacher Shiko Munakata and Unichi Hiratsuka. He dedicated his life to black and white woodblock prints created in Takuzuri. His collectors are worldwide.

The peaceful woodblock print "Fuji Jū-Nikei no uchi, Rokugo Kawa Watashibune" (Ferry on the Rokugo River) is by Hiroshige Ando (1797-1858). The title "Rokugo Kawa Watashibune", "Hiroshige" red seal, and embossed seal in the lower right corner of the image. When Hiroshige was in his late 50s, he drew this series (Twelve Views of Mt. Fuji). They were originally sketchbooks/picture albums of hand-painting. They are very delicate, and the subtle colors are beautiful. This woodblock print is a High-quality Fukkoku Mokuhan (reproduction woodblock print) by Yoshio Kawazura (1880-1963). Printed in Taisho 14 (1925). This is rarely on the market. This print expresses the beauty of magnificent nature. Hand-signed and limited edition. Signed "T. Tokuriki" in pencil on the lower left of the image. The artist's signature "Tomi" with the artist's red seal, and the Japanese title "Minō Taki" in the upper left corner of the image. The series title "Osaka Meisho" (Famous Places of Osaka), "Hanmoto Matsukyu" (Publisher's name "Matsukyu"), and the edition number on the lower right margin. The Minō waterfall is located in Minō Park, Osaka. This 33-meter-high waterfall is the only one of Japan's “100 Great Waterfalls”. The Autumn season is incredibly beautiful.

The rare woodblock print "Tane Maku Hito" (The Sower - Van Gogh) is by Gihachiro Okuyama (1907-1981). This print is a stunning representation of Van Gogh's iconic painting, "The Sower". Printed in 1959. This is a large-size print. The original artist's name "ヴァン ゴッホ”(Van Gogh), the title in Japanese, Pencil-signed "Gihachiro Okuyama", and dated "1959" on the bottom margin. Dated "Showa 34 nen 1 gatsu" (January 1959) in Japanese and "Okuyama Gihachiro jizuri" (Printed by Gihachiro Okuyama) on the left margin. Gihachiro Okuyama produced wonderful woodblock print series of famous European paintings. This print is one of them. They are highly collectible prints and are hard to find nowadays.
