The refined woodblock print Aki-Kyoto (Autumn in Kyoto) by Kazuyuki Ohtsu captures the beauty of autumn at Kōetsu-ji Temple. Brilliant maple leaves sweep across a woven bamboo fence, while a pale tree trunk and soft greenery bring a sense of calm to the composition. Ohtsu’s careful depiction of the small plants growing along the fence and at the base of the tree rewards a closer look.

Mr. Ohtsu shared that he and his wife visited Kōetsu-ji during the autumn foliage season and found the scenery breathtaking and unforgettable. He also noted that the prices of prints released from 2025 onward have increased slightly due to rising material costs.
