The lovely aquatint etching print 'Japanese Bath' is by Sarah Brayer (b. 1957). This print depicts a woman washing her long black hair in the bath. In Japan, there is a custom of leaving the bath, sitting on a small stool, and washing the hair and body. While there has been a shift towards Western styles in recent years, this custom still persists. This beautiful print captures the Japanese custom amid the steam amazingly. It is an exceptionally large piece, measuring 27 and 5/8 inches wide by 22 and 3/8 inches tall (70 x 56.8 cm). Printed in 1986, it is signed, titled, dated, and numbered by the artist in pencil on the bottom margin. This limited edition comprises only 80 sheets.
