The refreshing woodblock print Yakushi-ji Natsu (Yakushi-ji Temple in Summer) by Masao Ido (1945–2016) exquisitely captures the magnificent view of Yakushi-ji Temple during the summer season. A majestic temple and two pagodas stand gracefully on the far side of a pond, surrounded by a lush backdrop of fresh greenery. The depiction of the sky and water further enhances the tranquil atmosphere of the scene.

Yakushi-ji Temple, located in Nara, serves as the head temple of the Hosso sect of Buddhism. Founded in 680 by Emperor Tenmu, the temple was commissioned to pray for the recovery of Empress Uno Sarara (later known as Empress Jito) from illness. In 1998, it was designated a World Heritage Site as part of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara." This revered temple also houses numerous national treasures.
