This exceptionally large print features a phenomenal cherry tree in full bloom at Suzakura Shrine in Nagano Prefecture. This ancient tree, over 1,200 years old, is said to have grown from a staff placed by the god of nature into a giant tree with a root circumference of about 9 meters (30 feet). Designated as a national natural monument, the tree is a true wonder to behold. The print beautifully captures Japan's natural beauty. Created using 28 blocks and 43 printings, this handmade woodblock is a true work of art. The addition of gold and silver leaf adds a touch of elegance, making this print truly magnificent.
