- Ōka-ranman no Fuji (Mt. Fuji in Full Bloom with Cherry Blossoms from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji) -

Ōka-ranman no Fuji (Mt. Fuji in Full Bloom with Cherry Blossoms), from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, is a color woodblock print by Tokuriki Tomikichirō (1902–2000). Mount Fuji rises behind sweeping cherry branches, whose dark trunk and clusters of blossoms frame the snow-covered peak against a blue-green sky. The composition brings together the lasting presence of Mount Fuji and the fleeting beauty of spring. This is a popular design from Tokuriki’s Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series.

Published by Uchida in Shōwa 15 (1940), this is a first-edition impression. The right margin gives the Japanese title, the artist’s name, and the publisher’s name and seal. At the upper left, “Tomikichirō saku” appears with two red seals. The upper seal features a Mount Fuji emblem and “36-kei,” referring to the series; the lower seal is the publisher’s.
