The breathtaking woodblock print 'Omoide' (Memory) is by Kazuyuki Ohtsu. I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Ohtsu about this print, and he shared with me that it holds a special place in his heart as a memory of a place he visited with his master, Kiyoshi Saito. They visited Aizu together many times over the years, and this print represents their first visit together as master and disciple that left a lasting impression on Ohtsu.
The snow-covered village and its people are depicted with mastery and skill, showcasing the beauty and warmth of Aizu. Kiyoshi Saito remains in Ohtsu's heart, and this print is a tribute to their wonderful memories together, hence the title 'Omoide' (Memory). The print exudes a heartfelt mood and creates a peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect addition to any art collection. Only 50 sheets of this limited edition print are available. The contrast between the snow on the branches and the trees themselves is very beautiful and impressive.
