The remarkable woodblock print Tachikue-kyo (Tachikue Gorge) by Takeji Asano is part of his series Various Scenic Views in the San'in Region. This print captures a serene autumn view of the distinctive Tachikue Gorge in Shimane Prefecture, rendered with a rustic and tranquil atmosphere. The gorge is a scenic valley located upstream along the Kando River, which flows through Izumo City. Towering rock pillars—rising between 100 and 200 meters—stretch for approximately one kilometer. This dramatic valley of volcanic agglomerate was shaped over time by erosion and weathering from the river. The striking natural formations bear evocative names such as Shinki Rock, Eboshi Rock, and Candle Rock. The title 'Tachikue-kyo' and 'Takeji ga, koku' (“Drawn and carved by Takeji”) are in Japanese in the lower-right corner of the image.

Condition: Overall in good condition. There is an ink stain in the upper right corner of the image and a tiny ink spot in the center of the sky, so I have reduced the price accordingly. Minor paper scuffs are present at the top corners of the verso from previous mounting. Please refer to the pictures for details.
