This amazing woodblock print, Hosokute - Kiso Kaido ("Hosokute, Kiso Highway"), is by Katsuyuki Nishijima. It is the 21st subject in his Sixty-Nine Stations of the Kiso Highway series and captures the beauty of Daikoku-ya (a travel inn) at Hosokute-shuku in Mizunami City on a sunny day. The historical architecture, paired with a camellia tree in full bloom, creates a stunning contrast against the blue sky, giving the print a refreshing atmosphere. A subtitle reading "Hosokute" is nicely displayed on the wooden fence in the lower left corner, adding a touch of charm to the overall composition.
