The amazing woodblock print 'Kacho-zu’ (Birds and Flowers) is by Sanraku Kano (1559-1635), a renowned Japanese Nihon-ga painter of the Kano school. Originally painted during the Edo period as a folding screen, the original (folding screen) is now held in the Freer Gallery of Art, an art museum of the Smithsonian Institution, in Washington, D.C. This print image is a part of a whole painting. The print was published by Tansei-sha in 1983. The publisher's seal, the printer's name 'Mitsuo Hashizume,' and the carver's name 'Sadao Uetani' are located in the right margin. It comes with original explanatory paper (Japanese only, no English)
