- Hakkeyoi: Neko-Zumo no Zu ("Hakkeyoi": A Scene of Cat Sumo) -

The humorous woodblock print 'Hakkeyoi: Neko-Zumo no Zu' ("Hakkeyoi": A Scene of Cat Sumo), published by Isetatsu during the Shōwa era (ca.1950). This print is especially unique in that human figures are transformed into cats and portrayed comically. The humor naturally brings a smile to the viewer’s face. The Japanese title appears in the upper right corner of the image. The publisher’s seal and copyright seal are located on the lower left margin.

Condition: Overall, it is in good condition with slight age toning. The paper has slight waviness along the right and left margins, as shown. There is a very faint ink spot on the left margin above the copyright, along with a faint spot near the bottom of the image (on the back of the center cat’s head). The price has been reduced slightly to reflect these minor details.
