- Oshino no Fuyu (Winter in Oshino Village) -

The breathtaking woodblock print “Oshino no Fuyu” (Winter in Oshino Village) by Masao Ido depicts the serene beauty of a mountain village in winter. The image features a snow-covered village, with the majestic form of Mt. Fuji rising in the background, also blanketed in snow. It is said that the view of Mt. Fuji from Oshino Village is among the most stunning in Japan.

With its superb composition, refined colors, and striking contrast, this work has a powerful yet peaceful presence. This large-format print was printed on a soft-textured washi paper, a type of paper not often used by Ido. In my opinion, the paper seems to give the colors a somewhat crisper and clearer appearance than in his typical works, making the image feel especially vivid and expressive.

Condition: Overall, in very good condition with rich colors. The margins are slightly wavy and have a couple of faint ink spots. There are also minor handling creases in the margins. All of these condition issues are very minor and will be concealed when matted. Please refer to the photos for details
