The tranquil woodblock print Kako no Shiki (“The Season at the Estuary”) is by Yasushi Omoto (1926–2014). This work is part of his popular Silver Series. The large-format print depicts a quiet landscape at a secluded estuary, with a lighthouse in the distance and seasonal flowers blooming in the foreground. As characteristic of the Silver Series, the top and bottom areas of the image feature a metallic silver finish, creating a beautifully atmospheric and subtly mysterious scene. There is also some silver coloring on the tall grass in the middle of the image.

Technique: Woodblock
Paper size: 13 x 24 and 7/8 inches (33 x 63 cm)
Image size: 9 and 3/4 x 21 and 1/2 inches (25 x 54.5 cm)
Sheet number: N/A
Date: 1980
Signed: Hand signed by the artist on the bottom margin.
Condition: Overall, it is in good condition for its age. There is a slight mat line on the margins and a few faint spots on the margin, which will be matted out. The surface of the paper on the right margin has a slightly rough area due to the nature of the paper, but this can also be matted out. There are tape residues/stains on the edges of the verso, as shown. Please see the photos.
