Kan Kozaki


The tasteful woodblock print 'Kinome' (Leaf Bud) is by Kan Kozaki (b. 1942) and is printed on elegant Japanese washi paper. The featured poem is a famous haiku by Santoka Taneda (1882–1940), which reads: 'Even when I see the trees budding, I feel far away from my hometown. (I want to go back to my hometown, but I can't.)' This charming print features Ojizo-san, a stone statue with a peaceful expression, lovingly holding a green leaf bud.
