The breathtaking woodblock print “Awazu no Seiran” (Clearing Weather at Awazu), from Tomikichiro Tokuriki’s rare and celebrated Ōmi Hakkei (Eight Views of Ōmi Province) series, is a hand-signed, limited-edition work of exceptional refinement. The composition features a majestic avenue of pine trees stretching along the lakeshore, a solitary sailing boat gliding beneath a clear blue sky, and two figures strolling the avenue, adding gentle warmth and human presence to the serene landscape. The print is hand-signed “T. Tokuriki” and numbered in pencil in the lower left corner of the image.

The Japanese title and the artist’s signature “Tomi,” accompanied by his red seal, also appear in the lower left. The right margin bears “Ōmi Hakkei” (the series title) and “Shohan” (First Edition). This timeless location has long inspired Japanese artists, and Tokuriki’s interpretation captures its tranquil spirit and poetic allure with remarkable subtlety and finesse.
