- Zangetsu (Lingering Moon) -

The breathtaking silkscreen print Zangetsu (Lingering Moon) is by Soho Ikegami (b. 1940). This exceptionally large-format work is among the largest sizes produced by the artist.

Rendered in a radiant palette of crimson and soft pink, the composition features a golden crescent moon suspended above a sweeping expanse of cherry blossoms. Delicate cascades of blossoms descend across the upper background like veils, while the densely flowering trees below create a rich sense of depth and abundance. Ikegami’s refined use of layered color and intricate pattern gives the scene a dreamlike presence, balancing decorative brilliance with poetic calm. The work beautifully evokes the fleeting splendor of spring and the serenity of moonlight lingering in the sky.

The edition is limited to only 90 impressions.

Soho Ikegami is renowned for his silkscreen prints and has also worked in woodblock printing and lithography. Born in 1940 in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, his distinctive works have attracted collectors around the world.

Condition: Overall in good condition. There are moderate handling creases throughout the sheet and a minor ink stain on the upper left margin. A couple of small spots are present on the lower left margin and will be concealed when matted. There is also a tiny amount of tape residue near the lower right corner of the verso.
