The beautiful etching print “Yasaka Jinja” (Yasaka Shrine, Kyoto) is by Yoshiaki Sakuma (b.1947). This evocative print depicts Yasaka Shrine from a frontal perspective, seemingly capturing the shrine on a rainy evening. The shimmering reflections of the light upon the wet surfaces and sky are rendered with remarkable skill, giving the composition a quiet, dreamlike atmosphere filled with mystery and elegance.

Sakuma exhibited at the Wakayama Print Biennale in 1989 and the Taiwan International Print Biennial in 1990.
