This large-format silkscreen print, "Tsuzureko Odaiko, Akita" (The Giant Drum of Tsuzureko, Akita), is by Masaaki Tanaka. It portrays the colossal festival drum of Tsuzureko in Akita Prefecture, being played by teams of drummers surrounding and even standing atop the enormous instrument. Set against a clear, deep blue sky, the composition dramatically crops the drum's vast surface, emphasizing its monumental scale and the synchronized movements of the performers. The work captures both the powerful rhythm of the drummers and the solemn yet vigorous spirit of the traditional Tsuzureko Odaiko Festival.
