The superb woodblock print 'Tanchozuru' (Red-Crowned Cranes) is by Yasushi Ohmoto (1926–2014). This print depicts a flock of red-crowned cranes that live in Hokkaido. The red-crowned crane is the largest crane native to Japan and is found mainly in eastern Hokkaido. Because of its pure white plumage and elegant appearance, it has long been regarded as a sacred bird and a symbol of good fortune. The image is brimming with vitality, capturing the harmonious relationship between the cranes and the natural world.
The print is hand-signed “Yasushi Ohmoto” and includes the sheet number, title, and the watermark “Yasushi Ohmoto” along the bottom margin.

Condition: Overall, it is in good condition. There are a couple of very faint ink smudges on the margins, which will be matted out. There is minor toning on the verso.
