The breathtaking woodblock print "Sumiyoshi Taisha" (Sumiyoshi Shrine, Osaka) is by Tomikichiro Tokuriki. It beautifully captures an early summer view of Sumiyoshi Taisha, with the iconic vermilion bridge reflected in the calm water below. The striking contrast between the vivid red bridge, lush green foliage, and tranquil blue water creates a wonderfully refreshing composition.

The graceful arched bridge, known as Sorihashi (literally, "arched bridge"), is one of the shrine's most recognizable landmarks. Traditionally, it is believed that crossing the bridge symbolically purifies both the body and the mind before entering the sacred grounds, making it a cherished feature of Sumiyoshi Taisha.

The artist's signature, "Tomi," and the Japanese title "Sumiyoshi Taisha" appear in the upper left corner of the image. Although this impression does not feature a handwritten pencil signature, it was printed during the late Shōwa period while the artist was still alive and is therefore an authentic lifetime impression rather than a later posthumous printing.
