- Shinshu Matsumoto-jo (Matsumoto Castle in Shinshu) -

The breathtaking woodblock print "Shinshu Matsumoto-jo" (Matsumoto Castle in Shinshu) is by Shiro Kasamtsu (1898 - 1992). Very subtle and serene night image of Matsumoto Castle. The publisher is Watanabe. Japanese title "信州松本城"(Shinshu Matsumoto-jo) and dated "昭和9年夏”(Showa 9 nen Natsu, 1934 Summer) on the left margin. Artist's signature "紫浪” with the artist's red seal on the lower right of the image.  Watanabe round seal on the lower-right corner of the image. Watanabe Heisei seal "わたなべ” and Printer's seal "堀川昭三郎 "(Horikawa Shozaburo) on the lower left margin. This is a later printing from the original blocks.
