The stunning woodblock print "ONRI-AN KYOTO (C)" is by Kiyoshi Saito (1907–1997).
It depicts a serene view of the entrance to Onri-an Temple in Kyoto. This nunnery, also known as "Enri-an," is located along the historic Atago Kaido road in Saga, Arashiyama, Kyoto. Surrounded by a tranquil bamboo forest, a quiet path leads through the trees to the temple’s gate, evoking a profound sense of peace and seclusion. The name "厭離 (Enri)" means "to leave this world," and true to its name, the temple—tucked away among trees and marked by a high threshold—feels like a true retreat from the everyday.

Saito captures the scene with elegant simplicity and a spiritual atmosphere. His composition creates a strong sense of depth, and his restrained style enhances the meditative mood. Saito’s minimalism is both powerful and deeply captivating. Printed on watermarked “Kiyoshi Saito” paper.
