This small-format woodblock print by Unichi Hiratsuka (1895–1997) appears to have been designed as a New Year’s card of the era, printed on washi paper. It features the characters for “Happy New Year” (Gashō) and “New Year’s Day” (Gantan), alongside a design in which Mārīcī is depicted riding a wild boar and shooting a bow. The print is block-signed “UN” in the lower left corner of the image and hand-signed in pencil at the bottom. Executed in a bold black-and-white palette, the print captures a striking sense of minimalist beauty.
