The pleasing silkscreen print 'Kawaii Okyaku' (Adorable Guests) is by Kotaro Yoshioka (1928–2016). This charming print captures the innocence and cuteness of little birds and a cat on a piano, along with pretty flowers in a vase. The rich colors and fine contrast enhance the lovely atmosphere of the print. The title, edition number, and the artist's hand-signed signature in pencil are on the bottom margin.
Kotaro Yoshioka was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1928. He started his career as a painter under the very famous Japanese painter Yasuo Kazuki (1911-1974) and began working as a silkscreen artist in 1967. He became a well-known Japanese silkscreen artist. Kotaro Yoshioka passed away in 2016. His son is active as the second generation of Kotaro Yoshioka II.
