The breathtaking woodblock print 'Giō-ji Ryokuei' (Green Reflection of Giō-ji) by Masao Ido (1945–2016) depicts a serene early-summer view of Giō-ji Temple, quietly nestled in the cool shade of surrounding trees. Subtle sunlight and lush greenery create a sense of calm and renewal, bringing a refreshing and tranquil presence to any space.
Giō-ji Temple, an ancient site in Kyoto’s Ukyo Ward, is closely associated with The Tale of the Heike. The temple is particularly admired for its velvety moss garden and its celebrated autumn foliage.
