- At Imuro -

The beautiful small woodblock print 'At Imuro' by Osamu Ueda depicts a quiet street in Imuro, a rural district in the mountains of Hiroshima. Traditional houses, telephone poles, and layered mountains create a calm and familiar landscape, while the soft colors of sunset give the scene a warm and peaceful atmosphere. Two figures walking together in the foreground add a gentle sense of everyday life and human warmth to the scene.

Osamu Ueda was born in 1947 in Hiroshima Prefecture. He has an unusual background for an artist, having graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Hiroshima University. He and his father, Isao Ueda (b. 1924), held an exhibition together at the Kure Municipal Museum of Art. Both father and son are known for their warm and appealing artistic style.
