- Aoi Yabu (Blue Thicket), 1974 -

The delightful tree print “Aoi Yabu” (Blue Thicket) is by Joichi Hoshi. A mysterious blue thicket unfolds against a luminous silver background, its forms resembling delicate blue sparklers. The subtle shimmer and rich contrast create a striking yet serene composition, beautifully balanced by the tranquil metallic ground.

The print is titled “Aoi Yabu,” hand-signed “J. Hoshi,” and dated ’74 in pencil by the artist in the bottom margin. The artist’s red seal appears in the lower right corner of the image. It comes with a mat and is ready for framing in an 11 × 8.5-inch frame.

Condition: Overall, it’s in good condition for its age. There are several stains and spots in the margins, as well as a tiny, faint paper crease in the upper right margin corner, but these will be hidden once matted. There is also a tape stain at the top of the verso, as shown. The image area itself looks fantastic. Please check the photos for details. It comes with a mat and is ready to pop into an 11 × 8.5-inch frame.
