The lovely lithograph Aki (Autumn) is by Takehisa Yumeji. This original design was created as the cover illustration for Fujin Graph, Vol. 1, No. 5, published in 1924. It was later produced as both a woodblock print and a lithograph. This particular work is a lithograph from a limited edition of 250.

The arrangement of various fruits on a tray, combined with her red dress, creates a beautiful contrast against the earthy color tones. The composition exudes a quiet grace, capturing a moment of serene beauty and refined elegance.

Yumeji Takehisa was born in Okayama in 1884. He is very famous for his Bijin-ga (paintings of beautiful women) and succeeded as an illustrator for many books and advertisements. His typical lyrical works were called "Yumeji-style beauties" (Bijin). He is a representative painter of Taisho romance and was sometimes called the "Ukiyo-e artist of the Taisho era."
