The cheerful woodblock print "Gion Matsuri" (Gion Festival, Kyoto) is by Takeji Asano, from his well-known "Kyoraku Gyoji" (Events of Kyoto) series. This print captures Kyoto's most iconic festival, which draws visitors from around the world. The focal point is a Yamaboko float—an essential highlight of the Gion Festival. Asano enriches the scene with an array of colorful umbrellas beneath the float, enhancing the vibrancy and creating a visually stunning composition. Titled "Gion Matsuri" (Gion Festival) and "Takeji ga, koku" (Drawn and carved by Takeji) in the upper right corner of the image.
