The adorable woodblock print 'Pair of Cranes' is by Katsu Matsumoto. This print depicts a happy pair of cranes. In Japan, it is said that once cranes mate, they generally remain with the same partner for the rest of their lives. Because of this strong bond, cranes are considered a symbol of marital harmony. They are also regarded as a symbol of longevity. The artist’s signature, “Katsu,” appears in the lower left corner of the image.
