- Haru no Takase-gawa (Takase River in Spring) -

The breathtaking woodblock print "Haru no Takase-gawa" (Takase River in Spring) is by Masao Ido. It depicts a serene springtime scene in Kyoto. The Takase River runs north to south, parallel to the more famous Kamo River, just to its west on the eastern side of Kyoto City. The area around Kiyamachi Nijo is especially atmospheric, and during cherry blossom season, it becomes a lively and popular spot for hanami (flower viewing). The tunnel of cherry blossoms in full bloom along the river, with delicate petals drifting gently down, creates a truly mesmerizing sight. This print beautifully captures the romance and tranquility of that fleeting moment.

Condition: Very good condition with stunning colors. There are a couple of faint ink spots on the left margin edge and right margin, which will be matted out. A minor scuff on the left margin (possibly where the artist erased a minor ink smudge) will also be matted out. They are very minor and hard to notice unless pointed out. Slight tape residues are at the top edge of the verso. Please refer to the pictures.
