The breathtaking woodblock print Omuro no Sakura (Omuro Sakura Cherry Blossoms, Kyoto) by Masao Ido beautifully captures the spring view of the famous Ninna-ji Temple, founded in 888 in Kyoto. The Omuro cherry blossoms, with the five-story pagoda in the background, have remained unchanged since the Edo period, and the area has been a popular cherry blossom viewing spot ever since. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The soft pink colors against the blue sky create a fresh contrast. The five-story pagoda looks as if it is peeking out from clouds of cherry blossoms, creating a very picturesque scene. The Omuro cherry blossoms have been celebrated in ancient waka and haiku poetry.

Signed: Hand-signed in pencil by the artist on the bottom margin. 
Condition: Overall, it is in good condition. There are faint ink smudges on the margins and tiny scratches from the production process on the top margin (right side), which will be matted out. In the image, there is a very tiny spot on the cloud, so I have reduced the price due to this issue. Please refer to the last picture.
