The Japanese woodblock print 'Hatsuhinode' (Sunrise at New Year) is by Chōki Eishōsai (dates of birth and death unknown). The design was originally created during the Edo period and later issued as a recarved edition by the Adachi publisher in the Showa era.

This print is considered Chōki’s finest design and is regarded as one of the great masterpieces of ukiyo-e. Fine, darker silver mica enriches the sky, while the colors and contrasts are especially striking. A high-quality woodblock print by a renowned publisher, it rewards close viewing with its beautiful details. Publisher’s seals appear on the verso.
