The superb silkscreen print, Ōgi Chō (Folding Fans, Like Butterflies), is a beautiful work by the legendary fashion designer Hanae Mori (1926–2022).
Part of her enchanting Silkscreen Butterfly Series, this rare piece features Japanese folding fans, each adorned with delicate patterns—some traditional, others graced with butterfly motifs. The fans appear to flutter as if caught in a gentle breeze, evoking the graceful dance of butterflies. 

Hanae Mori was one of Japan’s most iconic and celebrated fashion designers on the world stage. Mori’s masterful touch is evident in every detail, capturing a sense of both refinement and grace. As in her couture, the butterfly here becomes a timeless emblem—delicate, poetic, and always in motion.
