The amazing woodblock print “Yubae no Tenshukaku” (Castle Tower in the Evening Glow) is by Shiro Takagi (b. 1934). This very large-format print captures the dramatic beauty of a castle tower bathed in a striking evening glow. The sky reveal the natural woodgrain of the blocks, adding a sense of handmade warmth. The vibrant colors create a magnificent contrast, while the glow of the setting sun lends the traditional Japanese architecture an atmosphere of grandeur and quiet splendor.

The Japanese title “Yubae no Tenshukaku,” the date “1982,” the sheet number “64/150,” and the artist’s hand signature “Shiro Takagi” all appear in pencil in the lower margin.

Condition: Overall, very good condition. There are a couple of extremely faint, pinhead-sized ink spots on the margins, which are hardly noticeable and will be matted out.
