A charming and expressive woodblock print by Japanese artist Gashu Fukami. This work depicts a small bird s perched on a woman's hand,  rendered in bright yellow, red, and blue with a simple yet warm and poetic composition. The artist's bold, simplified forms create a composition that is both playful and distinctly modern. The print is numbered 74/100, hand-signed in pencil, and titled in Japanese in the bottom margin. 

Gashu Fukami (1953–2023), born in Kumamoto Prefecture, was a Japanese woodblock print artist celebrated for his simple yet expressive style. After graduating from Doshisha University in 1976, he was inspired by renowned printmakers Umetaro Azechi and Takeji Asano to pursue woodblock printmaking. He later studied art in Boston before establishing studios in Kyoto, Nagasaki, and Fukuoka. His prints often portray familiar subjects—including cats, birds, flowers, and rural landscapes—with warmth, humor, and quiet charm.
