- Tsuki Noboru (Rising Moon) -

The amazing woodblock print “Tsuki Noboru” (Rising Moon) by Kazuyuki Ohtsu is one of the artist’s most popular works. This print was issued in a limited edition of 100 in 2008, it is now completely out of print.

It depicts an everyday autumn rural scene set in a mountain village, with the beautiful full moon rising behind a large persimmon tree. The contrast is striking, and the composition is wonderfully balanced. The artist adds an elderly farmer woman with a white dog beneath the tree, which fits perfectly into the peaceful atmosphere of this handmade print.

Beautifully balanced and rich in atmosphere, this handmade print leaves a lasting and heartfelt impression, gently conveying the warmth and humanity that define the artist’s work. It remains one of my personal favorites, and I am delighted to own one myself.
