- Takujo no Hana ( Flowers on a Table) -

The elegant mezzotint print “Takujo no Hana” (Flowers on a Table) by Kazuo Yamaguchi (b. 1949) depicts a refined still life of roses and delicate baby’s breath arranged in a vase. Two glass marbles resting beside the vase add a subtle touch of luminosity and balance to the composition. Against the deep, dark background, the finely rendered flowers and reflective surfaces emerge with remarkable clarity, beautifully demonstrating the rich tonal range and intricate detail characteristic of the mezzotint technique.

Pencil-signed by the artist, the print includes the edition number, date, and title in Japanese along the bottom margin. This impression is numbered 1/75. Yamaguchi is known for his highly detailed mezzotint still lifes, particularly compositions featuring flowers, fruit, and glass objects.
