The breathtaking woodblock print "Seiryu, Shimanto" (Clear Stream, Shimanto River) by Seiji Sano beautifully captures the tranquil beauty of the Shimanto River in Kochi Prefecture. Sunlight dances across the sparkling water, creating shimmering reflections that are rendered with remarkable delicacy. Layers of lush green mountains recede softly into the distance, while dark leafy branches frame the foreground, adding depth and a sense of quiet intimacy. A small traditional boat drifting gently along the river further enhances the peaceful atmosphere.

Known as the last clear river in Japan, the Shimanto River flows gently through the scenic countryside of Kochi Prefecture. It is one of my favorite rivers in Japan, cherished for its exceptionally pure waters and unspoiled natural beauty. Seiji Sano beautifully captures both the breathtaking scenery and the timeless spirit of this beloved river, creating a print that conveys a deep sense of serenity and harmony with nature.
