The beautiful woodblock print 'Seiro ni Waka onna Geisha no bu, Asazumabune, Ougiuri, Utamakura' (“Courtesan with a Court Hat, Fan Seller, and Traveler Visiting Famous Places” from the Series "Geisha Performing at the Yoshiwara Niwaka Festival" is by Utamaro Kitagawa (1753–1806). 

This series of prints depicts three geishas performing at the Yoshiwara Niwaka Festival. During the Edo period, in Yoshiwara (Seiro), an improvisational play called Yoshiwara Niwaka was held every August according to the lunar calendar.

Originally printed in 1793, this is a recarved edition from the late Showa era (1980–1990). The woodblock print features high-quality colors, intricate details, and beautiful silver mica in the background. Please take a moment to appreciate the superb craftsmanship.
