The serene small woodblock print Sake Shop in Yamate Village, Okayama is by Osamu Ueda (b. 1947). The scene captures everyday life on a quiet village street, centered on a long-established local Japanese sake shop. A mother passing by on her bicycle with her child on her back introduces a gentle sense of human warmth, enhancing the peaceful, nostalgic atmosphere of the composition.

Osamu Ueda was born in 1947 in Hiroshima Prefecture. He has an unusual background, having graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Hiroshima University. He and his father, Isao Ueda (b. 1924), held an exhibition together at the Kure Municipal Museum of Art. Both father and son are known for their warm artistic style.
