- Nihonbashi (A Snowy Scene of Nihonbashi Bridge, Tokyo) -

The serene chūban-format woodblock print Nihonbashi (A Snowy Scene of Nihonbashi Bridge, Tokyo) is by Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902–2000). It belongs to his Shiki Tokyo Fūkei (Four Seasons of Tokyo) series. Snow falls over the bridge and surrounding buildings, while a lone figure in a boat crosses the quiet water below. Soft gradations in the sky and river add a quiet, atmospheric quality to the snowy scene.

The title Nihonbashi, Tokuriki’s block signature “Tomikichiro,” and the red “Uchida-ban” publisher’s seal appear at the lower left of the image. An additional Uchida publisher’s seal appears in the lower right margin.
