- Kofukuji Yuki (Snow in Kofukuji Temple) - First edition

The serene woodblock print "Kofukuji Yuki" (Snow at Kofuku-ji Temple) by Takeji Asano depicts two women in kimonos walking through a snow-covered temple precinct. Amid the steady snowfall, the women, sheltered beneath umbrellas, make their way toward a pagoda. Asano captures even the subtlest details, such as their careful efforts to keep the hems of their kimonos from touching the snow, lending the scene a quiet sense of grace and realism.

The left margin includes the title "Kofukuji Yuki," the publisher's seal of Unsodo, the printer's seal "Shinmi," the carver's seal "Nagashima," and the date Showa 28 (1953) in the Kansu-ji era notation (廿八). The English title appears in the bottom margin.

Kofuku-ji Temple, located in Nara, is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara." The temple is home to numerous National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties, including its famous five-story pagoda, the Central Golden Hall, the Northern Round Hall, and celebrated Buddhist sculptures such as the renowned Ashura statue.

Condition: Overall, good condition for its age. There are noticeable signs of age toning and a few paper creases, as shown in the photos. There is also toning and discoloration on the verso. Despite these age-related condition issues, the print remains attractive and displays well. Please refer to the photos for details.
