This charming color woodblock postcard, Heian Shrine, Kyoto, is by Takeji Asano. Issued before World War II, it features vivid vermilion shrine buildings, softly shaded mountains, and visitors strolling through the grounds, capturing the atmosphere of Kyoto in the early Showa period.
Published by the Heian Shrine office, as indicated on the reverse. The printed signature “Takeji ga” appears along the lower-left edge of the image.
