The popular woodblock print Haru-ranman no Takizakura (Waterfall Cherry Tree in Spring) by Masao Ido depicts the delicate beauty of the Miharu Beni-shidare-zakura in Miharu, Fukushima. Approximately 400 years old, this weeping cherry tree is said to be a daughter tree of the famous Miharu Takizakura. Its cascading blossoms in several shades of pink resemble a waterfall against the clear blue sky.

Created using 35 woodblocks and 43 separate printings, this handmade woodblock print demonstrates the exceptional skill and precision of traditional Japanese printmaking. Gold and silver leaf accents enrich the intricate composition, beautifully expressing both Japan’s natural splendor and Masao Ido’s artistry.

Condition: Overall in good condition. There are a few very faint spots in the margins and several faint spots on the verso, but none within the image. They are hardly noticeable and difficult to capture in photographs. The verso also has tape residue and minor scuffing along the edge from tape removal. Please examine the photographs carefully for details. The price has been reduced accordingly.
