- Gemini (Constellation Series) -

The striking silkscreen print “Z-3” (Gemini) by Ado Sato (1936–1995) features a beautifully stylized Gemini motif rendered in vibrant colors and flowing curves—hallmarks of the artist’s distinctive style. This work may hold special meaning for those born under the sign of Gemini (May 21–June 21).

This impression is pencil-signed “Ado,” dated ’73, and numbered 39/100 by the artist. It is from a limited edition of only 100 prints. A label on the verso reads “Gemini” from the Constellation Series (Seiza Series, Futago-za) in Japanese. Please refer to the images for details.

Ado Sato was born in 1936 in Kanagawa, Japan, and trained as a Western-style painter. She moved to Paris in 1962, where she became actively engaged in the art scene. She received the prestigious Figaro Award (First Prize) at the 10th Japan–France Contemporary Art Exhibition held at the Grand Palais in Paris and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. She also collaborated with renowned photographer Kishin Shinoyama and writer Jun Ishikawa on the print series “Paris.” Sato passed away in Tokyo in 1995 at the age of 58.

Condition: Very good condition. A few couples of  faint ink spots on the bottom margin, they are very minor and hardly noticeable. Please refer to the picture.
